Church in an Art Center?

The Journey North has been in a unique position this past year. The building we meet in (Franklin School) is an awesome historic building. Two years ago ArtSpace began the process of purchasing the building. That process has been moving right along.

I met with Andrew Commers (project director) last week to talk about some of the implications for TJN. Andrew was reassuring and indicated a strong desire to work with our church. This would be the first church that is part of any of the projects they have up and running.

Later this fall construction will begin on a significant build out of the east wing of the building to provide “live/work space”. Part of that build out will include our current offices. We will need to relocate our offices and while I am not at all excited about that, I am however very hopeful that we may be able to envision a long term relationship with them. Only time will tell. I was very encouraged by the meeting I had.
